PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID 12 HOUR COURSE (LEVEL 2)

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: All those who are currently working in a childcare environment, including childminding and daycare. This course will meet the new Minimum Standards for Childminding and Day Care and is the third Core Element listed with NICMA.

COURSE CONTENT
Aims of First Aid, infection prevention and control, contacting EMS.

Resuscitation of baby and child, choking baby/child.

Correct management of the unconscious child

Head and Spinal injuries.

Burns and Scalds

Shock: including Anaphylaxis

Wounds and Bleeding

Fractures, sprains and strains

Recording of incidents and injuries.

Dealing with common childhood ailments

Pyrexia and Febrile convulsions

Chronic illness: Asthma, Diabetes

Seizures
All those who attend will receive a First Aid book and a Level 2, 12 hour Paediatric certificate valid for three years.
