INJECTION ADMINISTRATION TECHNIQUE
Who can attend? - The course is open to anyone who would like to be trained in the injection technique for the administration of vaccinations.
Course Aim: By the end of the course, candidates will be able to.
- Demonstrate appropriate infection control principles when administering injections.
- Safely and effectively administer injections (intramuscular and subcutaneous) in adults under Patient Specific Direction.
- Define role and responsibilities of the health care assistant/worker administering vaccinations via injection.
- Describe immunisation procedures for administration of vaccinations.
- Explain storage and cold chain.
- Describe action to take if a patient has an anaphylactic reaction.
